Payment
The cost of instrument hire is $110 per Music School year. (From the first lesson to the last lesson). Instruments may be kept over the Christmas break by arrangement.
Care of Your instrument
A musical instrument is designed and constructed to last a lifetime provided it is properly cared for. Please respect our instruments by using the following guidelines.
- Your instrument case is designed speci cally for your instrument. Always place your instrument, its parts (mouthpiece, bow, etc) and accessories (reeds, rosin, cleaning cloths, etc) in their correct places. Do not store pens, coins, or any- thing likely to scratch or mark the instrument in the case.
- Keep the instrument out of the sun at all times. Find a suitable place to store your instrument. We suggest under a bed where it is out of the way and dark. Never leave your instrument in a hot car.
- Never force the instrument case closed. If the case will not close, check that the instrument is correctly in place.
- Do not allow others to handle or play the instrument.
- Never leave the instrument lying on the floor, chairs, beds, etc. If you need to put your instrument down during practice, make sure it is in a safe place.
- If the instrument is damaged, let your tutor know immediately. RMS have preferred repair professional contacts and we keep a service record on each instrument. Never attempt to repair your instrument yourself.
- These are only broad guidelines. Your tutor will give instructions on care specific to your instrument including cleaning and assembling.
