Rotorua Music School aims to have a parent/student from each instrument on our committee.

Acknowledgement

Having enrolled my child/myself at Rotorua Music School, I acknowledge the following.

• I am responsible for getting my child to the classroom, ensuring the tutor is present, and collecting them promptly at the end of that lesson.

• I understand the importance of regular practice (10mins per day) and will support and encourage the facilitation of this.

• I will make every effort to contact the appropriate tutor if a class is going to be missed.

• I have read and understand the Refund Policy.

• I am responsible for paying the applicable fee in full.

• I am liable for any costs/dispersements incurred in the collection of overdue accounts.

• Invoicing will not be sent until after the discount date.

• I am happy for any publicity photographs taken including my child / myself to appear in newspaper articles, on this Music School website

Details of other family members attending Music School (we endeavour to co-ordinate lesson times, but this is not always possible).

Instrument Hire

Instruments may only be hired for two years maximum and are allocated on a first-in-first-served basis. No instruments can leave the School until a Hire form is filled out.

HIRE OF THIS INSTRUMENT IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS

1. Hire period: One music school year.

2. Return instruments: To your tutor on or before the final lesson of the hire year. After inspection, they may be reissued on completion of a new hire contract.

3. Repairs: Your tutor should be notified immediately of any damage requiring repair. The hirer is responsible for the purchase of any day-to-day expenses such as violin strings or clarinet reeds.

4. Responsibility: The parent/caregiver is responsible for reporting any damage to the student’s tutor as soon as possible. Should the damage be due to misuse, the parent/caregiver may be liable for the cost of repair or replacement.

5. Hire termination: Hire will be automatically terminated if the instrument is not being correctly cared for, the student stops lessons with Rotorua Music School, or the student is absent from three successive lessons without explanation.

6. Insurance: Our policy has a $250 excess which you may be liable for if the instrument is stolen or damaged. Please check with your insurer to see if your insurance has a lower excess.
